5 Things Botox Treatment Can Be Used For

Botox treatment became extremely popular in the last few years. Of course, it came on the market as a way for people to get rid of fine lines and wrinkles, along with the smile lines around their eyes. However, in recent years as the treatment has been studied more there have been added benefits found. Today, we are going to look at the other treatments that Botox can be used for aside from the typical one of getting rid of wrinkles and looking younger.

Botox can be used to do what?!

It is not as much of a secret now that Botox can be used for many different health-related issues. Today we are going to give a brief overview of the different things that Botox can be used for. Knowing these added benefits may help a person significantly if they are considering it.

Excessive Sweating (Hyperhidrosis)

This is one of the popular ways that Botox can be used “off-label” (not for its intended purpose, but still effective). Excessive sweating can be very discomforting for people of all ages and genders. It has been found in recent years with tests and studies that the Botox treatments can be used to help end excessive sweating.

These injections can be done anywhere that the excessive sweating is occurring, including in the armpits. And, it has been found that if people have not responded to typical treatments like specific deodorants or pills, the Botox treatment for sweating may be covered by a person's insurance!

Be sure and ask the doctor to check with the insurance company, if that is the case. Most of the time if they submit the information of what all prior treatments were tried and for how long, health insurance companies will cover the cost of having Botox completed for excessive sweating.

Migraines

Botox has been found to be extremely helpful with people suffering from migraines. Just recently, Botox has been approved by the FDA to treat migraines and it is actually covered under most insurance plans now! While migraines can be extremely painful, it's good to know that there is hope for those who can't find any other methods of relief.

Acne

Botox has now also been shown to be beneficial for people suffering from acne. Because of the lessening of the oil when it is applied to a spot of acne, it is quickly becoming another alternative to help people get rid of the acne that they have been battling.

TMJ

Botox has now recently been found to help people suffering from TMJ. Although it may seem like there may not be relief from the constant dull and aching pain coming from the jaw, Botox may be the answer. It has been found in recent studies to help people with TMJ lessen or completely get rid of the pain caused by TMJ.

Slimming effects

Botox can be injected in a certain way on the cheeks and face that it gives a slimming appearance and not just the reduction of wrinkles. Because of this, people looking to have a slimmer looking face are turning to Botox to get the results that they have been looking to find.
