Nose Surgery

Rhinoplasty is a surgical procedure that is used to reshape and correct any deformations associated with the nose. Many patients feel self-conscious about the appearance of their nose, particularly if it’s considered misshaped, too large or small, or features bumps, hooks, and large tips. Rhinoplasty addresses these issues to restore facial symmetry, while giving the nose an aesthetically pleasing shape.

Dr. Dillon’s Rhinoplasty procedures lead to beautiful, symmetrical results. Whether you’re looking to smooth away a bump from a childhood injury or you would like to reduce the size of your nose, Dr. Dillon can discuss your goals with you.

What is Rhinoplasty?

Rhinoplasty, which is also referred to as a nose job, is a surgical procedure that allows the plastic surgeon to correct aesthetic issues associated with the nose. Rhinoplasty can be customized to achieve any of the following results:

• An aligned septum
• A straightened nose
• The removal of a hump or raised dorsum
• Reduction or alteration in the size of the nose
• Modification of the nose angle
• And more

Rhinoplasty can also be a good option for patients who are seeking to correct issues associated with a past injury or previous Rhinoplasty procedure.

Am I a Good Candidate?

Good candidates for Rhinoplasty will be in excellent health and have reasonable expectations for the outcome of this surgery. Candidates will be non-smokers who do not take blood-thinning medications.

*What Should I Expect From the Procedure?

The techniques used during Rhinoplasty will largely depend on the type of results you’re looking for from your surgery. Most often, incisions are made in the cartilage of the patient’s nose, which allows Dr. Dillon to access the nasal bone. The bone is adjusted, thinned, and reshaped to produce a more acceptable form. For patients who want to change the tip of their nose, this latter step may not be necessary.

*What’s the Recovery Like?

After Rhinoplasty, patients can expect to experience swelling and bruising. The nose will be splinted for approximately one week to support proper healing. After the splint is removed, you may be able to return to work. Most swelling and bruising will dissipate after a few weeks. Final results will be visible after a year.
